Hello! My name is Magdalena Boufal-Nistico. I'm originally from Poland and Mekunia is an endearing nickname given to me by my parents when I was little. It seemed fitting for me to choose a name that has such a strong connection to my identity, my childhood...a time when I discovered my love for all things creative and fashionable. As an adult, my academic background in psychology lead me into art therapy where I worked closely with children, helping them to better express themselves through art. It is this type of expression that lives at the heart of what I do now.

I love to create my own pieces. I also love creating custom pieces with personally meaningful artwork on them, like children's drawings. It is such a natural extension of my background as an artist, art therapist, and mother. Artwork is powerful, personal, and connects special memories and feelings. I focus on transforming static artwork (for instance a sketch otherwise stored in a drawer or portfolio) into sentimental fashion (leather jewelry or accessory) that a parent can wear. Relatives, close friends and children also enjoy wearing personally meaningful accessories. I can customize any of my accessories into custom works, or create wholly bespoke pieces. (Customization takes a few days time depending on my current workload at an additional cost).
